OUR DEFAULT IS ANONYMITY
Cannabis is a sensitive category. Lots of shoppers would rather their name not be attached to a review of a weed store, a click on a coupon, or an account anywhere. So our default is to not require your real identity on anything public, and to keep server-side data minimal and short-lived.
You can browse the directory without an account at all.
WHAT WE COLLECT
When you visit any page, we log standard request data: timestamp, coarse country (from IP), referrer, and a hashed-IP token used for rate limiting. We don't store raw IP addresses.
Account data
If you sign in, we store an email and a Clerk user ID. If you set a display name, we store that. We don't require legal names. We don't ask for date of birth beyond an age-confirmation checkbox (the minimum varies — 18/19/21+ depending on your province or state).
Click & reveal data
When you click a deal, we record the click on the deal's ID, the timestamp, and a hashed token. If you're signed in, we record your user ID so verified-purchase reviews can attach to your account later. If you're not, the click is anonymous.
WHAT WE DON'T COLLECT
- Raw IP addresses (we hash + salt before storing).
- Precise location. We use coarse country only.
- Date of birth. An age-confirmation checkbox, that's it.
- Browser fingerprints, device IDs, ad-network identifiers.
- Anything from third-party advertising trackers — we don't run any.
SHOPPING & VENDOR DATA
When a shop installs the SAVEDANK Tracker plugin and you click-through, the shop's site receives an attribution token in the URL (?bl_ref=…). On checkout, the plugin sends us back: that token, the order amount, the order ID, and the coupon code if one was used. Not your name, address, or payment details. We use this data to invoice the vendor and to mark your future review of that vendor as a verified purchase.
RETENTION
Click logs: 13 months. Reveal logs: 13 months. Aggregated conversions for billing: 7 years (US tax retention). Account data: until you delete the account.
You can delete your account from the dashboard at any time. Deletion removes your account row, your reviews (or you can keep them as Anonymous — your choice), and disconnects future conversions from your identity. Pre-deletion conversions stay in billing logs without your user ID attached.
YOUR RIGHTS
Wherever applicable law gives you rights — access, correction, deletion, portability — we honor them. Email [email protected] with your account email and what you need. We respond inside 30 days.
California, GDPR, and similar regimes: same address, same response time.
CHANGES
We update this policy when we need to. Material changes get a banner on the homepage for two weeks. The effective date above is always current.
