THE SHORT VERSION
When you click a coupon on SAVEDANK and complete a purchase at the shop, SAVEDANK earns a commission from the shop. That commission is how we keep the directory free for shoppers and free to list for legitimate vendors.
We also offer paid featured placement to shops that want above-the-fold treatment. Featured listings are always marked with a visible badge and never disguised as organic editorial picks.
HOW THE COMMISSION WORKS
Two paths:
Plugin path (preferred)
Most shops install the SAVEDANK Tracker plugin on their checkout. It recognizes orders that came from us — either via a click cookie, a coupon code we issued, or both — and sends back the order ID, amount, and our attribution token. We invoice the shop monthly based on those records. The commission rate is TBD— we'll publish it before the post-beta window starts and give every claimed listing 30 days notice. The rate at the moment of order is what we charge for that order, even if the rate changes later.
Affiliate-platform path
A minority of shops still attribute through their existing affiliate platform (AffiliateWP, Tapfiliate, Refersion, etc.). In those cases SAVEDANK is a registered affiliate of the shop and the platform pays us per the platform's rules.
DOES THIS AFFECT RANKING?
Featured placement is paid and marked. Featured shops appear in their own labeled slots, never blended into organic rankings.
The Dank Score per-vendor index — once it ships — will not include payment as an input. The methodology is in development; until then, the index sorts featured-first, then by active coupons, then newest. We commit to documenting the scoring formula publicly so you can audit it when it lands.
DOES THIS COST SHOPPERS ANYTHING?
No. Commission is paid by the shop out of their margin. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay; SAVEDANK doesn't add a fee on top.
If a coupon code on SAVEDANK is exclusive to us (markedEXCLUSIVE), the shop honors it because it drives attributable orders to them. We don't get to make up our own discounts.
FTC & DISCLOSURE PRACTICES
Per FTC 16 CFR Part 255 guidance on endorsements and testimonials, we disclose our commercial relationship with shops on this page and via the rel="sponsored"attribute on every outbound deal link. Editorial copy that recommends a specific shop or strain is written by staff and not paid for by the shop, even when the shop pays for featured placement elsewhere on the site.
